Room 32 lined up and ready to learn and build community!
I took this photo as our class was preparing to join the other 4th grade classes for our 1st "all 4th grade" community circle. They looked so cute all lined up, so I grabbed my iphone to capture the moment.
We are hoping to have 2 to 3 field trips this year. We will definitely be going to VT Ranch, which offers our students a fabulous, hands on experience of what it must have been like to live in the days of the California Gold Rush!
4th Grade Science Garden
Our 4th graders will get to enjoy hands on plant observation in our science garden.

The Power of Yet - TED Talk by Stanford Professor Carol Dweck
I don't usually push things on people but I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to watch this TED talk by Dr. Carol Dweck, a psychology professor at Stanford University. Her talk truly moved me and my thinking as an educator, as a parent, and as a human being.
Go to Google and type in search: "The Power of Yet by Carol Dweck." It's a little over 11 minutes long and well worth the time investment.
Accelerated Reader Program
Our Accelerated Reader Program will start shortly after school begins. The school-wide program requires students to take on-line reading comprehension tests throughout the year. All students are expected to participate.
Note that AR tests can only be taken at school. However, to check if books are AR books and book Lexile levels go to the following AR Website:
